A bunch of incredibly wealthy (mostly white) men who own oil & coal companies, weapons manufacturers, drug manufacturers, insurance & banking lobbied the US government into invading Iraq and turning Afghanistan from the elimination of al Qaeda into a security detail for opium production – all on borrowed money, increasing the debt. In the process, hundreds of thousands of (mostly brown) people were killed.
These same (mostly white) men also lobbied the US government into crafting tax laws with loopholes that specifically allow the people in this country who make the most money to avoid paying taxes – often completely as a condition for being awarded a contract to sell weapons to the government. If that fails, they register their corporation in some shell account on Barbados.
The (mostly white) owners of the oil, coal and mining companies supply power to the military and weapons industries. Along with the drug companies who also want access to the low wage employees of war-torn economies help keep.
The taxpayer gets saddled with the debt. The taxpayer pays for the wars. The taxpayer pays for the bank bailouts. The taxpayer has to fight the wars because the very rich and their children don’t want to die and honestly, the military needs a lot of people to fight and there are many more poor people than very, very, very wealthy people.
These very same (mostly white) men who own all the weapons, manufacturing and banks also own the TV, radio and newspapers which tell stories that avoid pointing scrutiny on these (mostly white) men and instead play out the stories that justify military invasions, the tales of (mostly brown) terror threats from around the world and wave a flag and a cross in our face as both the reason for why we are so very special and why the rest of the world should be attacked.
So, we are spending all our time, energy and resources on killing, imprisoning, propaganda, domestic spying and police and the solution is to eliminate education, healthcare, sovereignty for women and the mostly brown people.
